Original: In the collection of Edmund and Dee Bujalski

For the book of the same name. The creature is a demon that forms itself to depict whatever scares the beholder most, in this case, the last Thane of a dwarven realm.

  • Lava Magess

    from $15.00

    Lava Magess
    9x12/300: Digital: 2008
    ©Wizards of the Coast

Also known as Meddling Mage. The name I work with on the art order is never the same on the final card. She'll always be a Magess of the Lava to me, parting the molten flows with a wave of her hand.

    Lidda, Halfling Rogue
    8.5x11: Graphite: 1999
    Original: NFS

Jon Foster took my little halfling and really made her shine for the Player's Handbook. She's a popular character, as far as the iconics go. Funny that she started life as an archer.

  • Lord of the Iron Fortress

    from $15.00

    Lord of the Iron Fortress

My second entirely digital cover painting. Having painted Nebin four times in the previous illustration (he was using a Mirror Image spell that creates illusionary duplicates of himself), I felt obliged to kill him in this one.

    $15.00

    Mailee, Elven Wizardess
    8.5x11: Graphite: 1999
    Original: NFS
    ©Wizards of the Coast

Mailee started life as a generic magic-using type, more of a sorceress (detail on the left). R&D loved her, but were determined, for whatever reason, that she should be a wizardess instead, which necessitated the addition of many pockets for spell components. She is one of my favorites.

  • Male Cleric of Ehlonna

    Mech Hunter
    18x24: Oils: 1998
Original: In the collection of Doung & Jean Cowan
    ©Wizards of the Coast

One of my personal favorites, this was done for Dragon Magazine, to the theme "Mage vs. Machine." It inspired an article that told more about the mech bug at her feet.

This cover for "Midnight Tides" by Steven Erikson, was some of the biggest fun I had in 2006. The scene was moody and filled with portent.
