I think of this as the first staff cover I did for TSR, though in truth the first was a painting so awful that I left it in Wisconsin when we moved to Seattle... 
There was a stricture against showing blood on the covers of our products at the time... but the art order called for a god standing in a sea of blood! Reflecting the lightning on the surface was marginally helpful... is it a sea of blood and milk?
